Dream Hampton talks “Decoded” with PBS

Hip-Hop and culture journalist Dream Hampton chopped it up with PBS about her work on Jay-Z’s book, Decoded. The book combines first person tales from Jay’s life with line-by-line explanations to many of his popular songs.

I’m almost finished with the book and it’s a good read with some great photos and illustrations.  Hampton served as a ghostwriter for the project, helping Jay tell his story.

I find it ironic that the rapper known for not even writing down his rhymes has now written a book.

In related news, Hampton recently announced via her Twitter that she has been battling thyroid cancer.  Keep the sister in your prayers.
